What to Expect from BEAP Services

For Employees:

Your BEAP benefits are paid for entirely by your employer and are confidential, convenient and professional. When you call BEAP at (513) 733-3800 or 1-800-875-5540, you will be asked for the following information:

  • Your name
  • Your employer
  • Your demographic information
  • The reason for your call
  • Questions regarding the immediacy / extent of your need
  • Your availability to schedule time with a counselor

If your initial call is placed after normal business hours and it is not an emergency situation, we will return your call on the next business day to schedule an appointment.  Please notify the BEAP Receptionist if this call is an emergency and warrants immediate assistance.

When you speak to BEAP's intake department, you will be provided with the following information:

  • An explanation of how we can help
  • Immediate referrals for child care, credit counseling or legal aid
  • An explanation of your employer’s benefits package
  • Our privacy policy

An appointment will be scheduled to meet with one of our therapists if your needs go beyond basic information or a referral for other services. This appointment can involve you and/or any family members who wish to attend.

Your therapist will develop a plan with you if the issue is not resolved within the number of sessions allocated by your company's BEAP contract. Your therapist will ensure that you understand your benefits and will assist you in continuing with your EAP therapist utilizing your health insurance / self paymyent or referral to other service providers as needed.

Business HR Consulting Services:

These services are especially designed to assist employers, and their particular managerial needs. Some services that BEAP provided to customers include:

  • Consulting in a variety of areas including sexual harassment, workplace violence, promotions, downsizing, etc.
  • Dealing effectively with employee problems such as depression and substance abuse which can impact productivity and job performance
  • Designing and utilizing systems for employee disciplinary actions, mediation between employees, etc.
  • Coaching for senior managers
  • Training for managers and supervisors on topics such as: recognizing substance abuse in the workplace, dealing with non-chemical addictions such as internet, online gambling and pornography which takes place increasingly during work hours, effective leadership skills, communication skills, and conflict resolution
  • Workshops for employees on topics such as wellness, stress management, and balancing work and family demands

Business Critical Incident Response:

BEAP counselors are immediately available 24 hours a day to respond to critical incidents. 
A critical incident may consist of:

  • a workplace accident that involves the death of an employee
  • the threat of violence by an employee
  • death or serious injury to an employee
  • trauma at the workplace (i.e., robbery)
  • a national crisis 

Counselors will be on site to work with managers and supervisors in developing a plan to deal with the incident and to work directly with employees individually and in small groups.

Business Utilization Reports:

BEAP provides its customers with quarterly reports indicating the level of use and type of issues that are being addressed. These reports contain no information that identifies the individual that is using the service.
